I am not holding my breath, though – it’s more likely that the two of us agree on not getting each other presents at all, and in stead wait for the new year’s sales to get that big TV and a new satellite receiver/subscription, and hopefully some of the furniture needed for my doll room (since the TV is really _his_ wish and not mine…).

I am such a sucker for chibi looking bjds, and this tiny by La Légende de Temps is just perfect..! Only 4 white and 4 tan left as this is written; US$240 plus shipping… Probably not this time, but wow.

Isn’t she just gorgeous? She’s an Abio Angel “Shi”, an SD sized doll which will complement my Dollfie Dream(s), the Volks “Rio” head and even my Dollzone “Yage” quite perfectly, with her anime-ish look and all. She’s a totally unplanned addition to the doll family; her arrival is made possible through a spur-of-the-moment trade with fellow Norwegian doll aficionada Kristin. I am also expecting Pullip Ddalgi and Byul HumptyDumpty to arrive pretty soon, they were shipped from the US yesterday. Hooray!

This time, Mui-chan becomes the characters of the famous fairy tale – Little Red Riding Hood.
She will be shipped to you at the end of November. For Mui-chan version 4, we have three different sets available for you to choose:

I am not getting any this time, waiting for the boy version to be released. I will however try to get an extra smiling faceplate, since having discovered that one of my two Mui-chan’s faces doesn’t fit too well on the headback (customizing – as in sanding – seems to be a possible cause). I contacted IxTEE earlier this summer about this, and they told me they would keep me in mind. Fingers crossed!

I wasn’t going to get any dolls in the 16cm range; my itsy bitsy tinies (Lati Whites, Brownies and Puki) were going to cater for my need to take cute re-ment pics. With the arrival of Pukifees, my firm decision started to crumble, and with the release of the affordable Leffy of dollk, I was more or less doomed. This week I found myself being the owner of no less than four 16cm bjds – funny thing is, none of them are Pukifees nor from dollk…

I dropped the Leffy doll because I ended up finding her too cute, a decision which was definitely supported by the release of the Doll Leaves “Angels” dolls (previously blogged about here). Just quirky and stylistic enough for my liking – and perfect playmates for my already acquired Mui-chan (a lucky find on eBay). Said Mui-chan is sadly without her open eyes face nowadays; I wiped the faceup she came with but haven’t been in the mood to give her a new one that I wanted to keep. Must browse her flickr pool, I reckon. And then, out of the blue, came pouty little Kieran, a Lati Yellow Kuroo with slight modifications and a custom faceup. Because of their somewhat limited posability, I didn’t want to get a Lati Yellow, and definitely not a WS one, but I just couldn’t resist this little kiddo…

I am still not 100% convinced about the Laty Y body – the legs are awfully kicky (though that can be fixed), and what’s with the hilariously short arms?? The 16cm size, however, is brilliant! How did I not discover before?

On that note, my Lati White Pury and my Domuya D-1 30 Potpourri are both up for adoption..!

Before, the dolls had a multitude of different outfits – each outfit meaning a separate name for the doll, in addition to the name of their face mold; quite confusing! Now, you first choose between two basic (Sugar, Milky) and – as of now – one limited (Shepherd) outfits with a matching wig, and when you’ve decided on the outfit you pick from their smörgåsbord of head molds to get the exact one that you prefer. Finally, you decide on the faceup style; natural or vivid (see examples below). I love this way of doing it!

And check this neat trunk that they come in!

Their price is appr $150, which is nearly double the price of some of last year’s fullsets, but still quite a lot less than a Puki with outfit, shoes, wig and faceup. The outfits look a lot more intricate and professional than the previous fullsets did, too.

I am not sure if you will grow tired with the constant grimace of theirs? Puki Puki Pong Pong (what’s with those names..?) has a similar grinning face, and she seems popular enough? I am counting on my fingers whether or not to get a Ding Ding (the one smiling with closed eyes) – she would be a nice companion for my Mui-chan, wouldn’t she?
