Having found names for all the girls, I figured a group shoot was in order! 8 girls for now; and 5 more (3 boys) are coming along during the fall and winter. In addition to those, there are another two girls I’d really love to have; Prunella and RIDa. There are also a few others that stand out, but I can manage without them. The ones I have by now all have more or less natural makeup and hair, and still represent a variety of looks. I’m not too interested in the animanga project dolls – even though I have one from Evangelion and want one that is clearly inspired by Nana, and I am converting one of my existing dolls into Aya Mikage of Ayashi no Ceres (and one of the boys coming along will be T?ya). Nor do I want any of the goth/lolita ones – perhaps with the exception of the 2008 Doll Carnival special Isolde. I feel that with the group I have by now, I won’t need Nina, Eternia, Stica, Blanche or any of the other natural looking, cute girls.
I’m also focusing on my Class Mate dolls, although I have given up on finding more of those (I am _not_ paying double the price I got them for originally, they are simply not worth that much). I’ve tried ordering from a couple of Korean sites, but have yet to receive a reply – three weeks and counting. To fix them up, I’ve gotten them new wigs, ordered acrylic eyes, and I keep looking for new outfits – I believe I am getting somewhere with them now. What’s extra neat is that they can – for the most part – use the Re-Ment/Megahouse miniature furniture, which is too small for the Pullips.
And speaking of Re-Ment… With more than enough dolls, and with most furniture provided for, that’s easily where my focus (and money!) is going from now on. I will perhaps try to get a few full sets, with the infamous hidden items in them – I would “kill” for the colour pencils box..! There are also other miniatures I’ve got my eyes set on; gadgets like laptops, SLR cameras, Coca Cola promo stuff and such. They’re both hard to come by and pretty expensive, though, so those will have to be long term projects.
I’ve started making clothes, I’ve found material for carpets and wallpaper, and I will have my dad make me a few items – he’s proven before that he’s a master of scale miniature woodwork. He or my significant other will also have to help me make a lightbox of sorts, because the lighting in our house is terrible for photography. I will redecorate our guestroom so that I can keep my sewing machine up and the dolls and their clothes scattered without making a havoc; it’s not like we have a lot of overnight guests, and it’s kind of silly to just let the room stand empty when it can serve a purpose.
Oh, and the names?
Nomado is Lisa, after fictional character Lisa Kimmel Fisher of Six Feet Under. I don’t know what it is, but there’s a resemblance (perhaps Nomado’s stock outfit, with the free living feel).
Chill is Smilla, after the main character of Peter Hoeg’s novel (and movie) “Smilla’s sense of snow”.
Aquel will gradually become Aya Mikage of Ayashi no Ceres, my favourite anime (I haven’t read the manga). There’s a Namu, Trunk, coming along next month to become her soulmate T?ya.
Papin is Spunk because I think she’s full of life and fun.
Asuka is the only one I’m not quite decided on yet, as for now she’s Alison after singer/songwriter Alison Sudol (A Fine Frenzy).
Latte #1 is Keren, after singer/songwriter Keren Ann.
ALa is Em after singer/songwriter Emily Haines.
Finally, Squall – she’s Annisette after amazing, inspiring, universal daughter and wild child, singer and songwriter, Annisette Hansen (Savage Rose).

Doll collector since the summer of 2008, never really played with dolls as a kid. Discovered Blythe and Pullip... (
All your girls are really sweet! Your family is growing so fast, but still they have so much personality:)
I have trouble with keeping track of four girls- hehe! Looking forward to see the 5 incoming dolls. Except for Trunk, which are the dolls you are waiting for now?
I’ve gotten another Latte (MIB, the one I already had was nude and re-wigged) and a Taeyang (a custom Cavalie) since the picture was taken. In October I am getting Oren and the custom Trunk, and I’ve pre-ordered Arion for February next year. Whew!
I have plans on making pic fics, so I want to keep them all – but if forced, I could probably let go of four of the ones I already have. Won’t tell which ones, though – I don’t want to hurt their feelings. ;)
That´s a pretty family you have there! I love this family pic. Your dolls are looking beautiful and they are well organized.^^
Thank you! :)
