So, with Shin arriving without shoes, in the middle of winter – we’ve even got snow, several feet! – and a top which wasn’t quite his style, I rushed off to eBay to look for something to make him (and me..) feel better about it. I ended up getting a long sleeved 2fer sweater (black with green sleeves), a pair of leather sneakers, and even a new wig (excuse the poor wig photo montage, I couldn’t be bothered to take a new pic of Shin for the purpose):
Looking for clothes for Shin made me realize why people call the BJD collecting an expensive hobby.. I mean, most of those clothes were the same price as clothes for me! Granted, I don’t purchase label outfits, but still.. I’ve been spoiled with the Pullips, who can wear so many brand and no-brand clothes – the market for larger BJDs is clearly of a different caliber. I guess it’s a nice exercise in limiting myself and only getting items I am 100% certain that I’ll use..! *has way too much weird Barbie stuff lying around from eBay sprees*
And speaking about limiting myself – there are now .. *counts on fingers* four more dolls on their way to me, and a fifth is possibly being added to that group. I’m embarassingly aware of my statement of being content with my current Pullip family, and that only awesome offers will make me get more dolls. Well, what can I say.. at least, out of the four (five), two (three) were major wishlisters. I am finally getting a Dal, a Cinnamoroll with all her stock outfit! To keep her company, from the same seller I am getting Dal Melize, who’s won me over by all the owner’s pictures posted over the last couple of weeks. A puppy and a bear, cute as can be! The other wishlister is one of the two dolls who got me into Pullips in the first place – a Zuora! She’s coming without her stock, but I am not really bothered by that as I find her stock quite weird anyway. Anyone following my flickr and blog will know that my dolls are all about being casual and natural, just like the neighbour kids, and not dressed up in costumes. Of course, the Dals will be the exception from that “rule”, but that’s because I love Sanrio and cute stuff. *has an excuse for everything doll related* ;)
So, that’s Cinnamoroll, Melize, and Zuora – who are the fourth and possibly even the fifth doll? The fourth is a Namu; a re-wigged and nude Vispo. I reckoned Toya/Trunk needed a friend, seeing that Aki/Cavalie jumped at the chance of being Arion’s band mate, and Theo/Butler is head over heels in love with Maaya/Latte (they’re sitting on the shelf next to me, holding hands and gazing into each other’s eyes..). Poor Toya has been left to himself – the G.I. Joe doll which is keeping him company didn’t really have much in common with him besides a love for camo patterned pants. Finally, I am talking with a girl about purchasing her RIDa (again, nude/bald), I really hope it goes through!
Now, if you’ll all excuse me while I write an invoice to my brother-in-law for the web and printed folder design I did for him in December… *needs monies* :P

I know… isn’t it crazy how expensive BJD clothes are?! That is actually a good reason for me not to buy any more of them. Dana needs more clothes, so does Mus (who doesn’t have any at all). LOL!
