I mentioned a few changes I’ve done to some of my girls, and here be the pictures.

So, it was true after all, even if Scot at VotD had his doubts about which was the prototype and which was the final product – the final AP collab dolls are just as overloaded and colour mismatched as I was dreading.. :( Meet – ltr – Maretti, Sfoglia, and Cocotte (click for larger view):
I guess, with the financial crises (hitting my workplace right now), and my wish for an U-noa Chibi (not cheap..!), it’s only a good thing that none of the upcoming Pullip releases are tempting me. I want RIDa and Adsiltia, and they can wait.
On a sidenote, I am quite a bit confused about the ongoing bankruptcy / non-bankruptcy thing with Jun Planning, seems as none of the western based dealers (US and Europe alike) are being informed at all. Groove Inc has their logo on the AP pictures, I hope the transmission over to them as distributors goes well for all parts included. PullipStyle seems to have the most control, it’s from them I’ve got the pictures for the collage above. VotD hasn’t got the preorder page nor any pictures (they _have_ been busy this week, moving their store to Royal T), nor does PlasticPop.de. Edit: Scot just put up the release pictures at the Valley Talk forum as I was writing my entry.
So, I guess it was the energy kick after today’s kitchen spring cleaning that did it – or perhaps the fact that I should be working on a freelance commission – I ended up spending most of the evening in my doll room (our guestroom, really). This is what I accomplished:
- Em (Haute NY) now sports a 27cm soft bust M obitsu, plus she was half way re-dressed since her stock stockings and boots doesn’t fit anymore
- Maaya (Latte) was re-chipped with a pair of sky blue chips from Pupa Paradise, re-wigged with a long blond Monique Faith – so pretty! - and re-dressed for spring
- Maaya’s boyfriend Theo (Butler) was re-wigged with a short, brown, fur wig
- Jenny (Zuora) was re-chipped with a pair of brown Pupa Paradise eye chips, and re-wigged with Maaya’s wine red fur – snazzy!
- My custom, Celia, was re-wigged with the Josephina wig Drta came with, plus I tried fixing her eyemech to avoid the pound of blue-tack otherwise holding her acrylic eyes (it’s a disaster in terms of obitsu floppiness..!)
- Finally, Y?hi (Vispo) was re-wigged, since Theo stole his fur wig. I gave him a looooooong blond wig and put it in a ponytail, but it’s got bangs and really is too feminine to look good. He could pass as a viking metal rocker I guess, but on the other hand: not really. ;) Besides, he really looked good in that brown fur wig - I will try to find a new one for him (my SD BJD needs one as well).
Pictures must follow – it’s 1am and I’m not in the mood to process pictures right now. Not that I took any, lamplight isn’t really inviting now that spring is here with gorgeous light during daytime!
What did you do for your dolls today? ;)
Look at Nomado Eleonore, didn’t she turn out great from last night’s “spa”? I spray matted her face, one layer only, and used the boiling water method to straighten her wig. It took two or three full kettles to get the hair this straight. She’s also been given a pair of additional eye lashes – she fits so much better with her busty obitsu now that the “innocent young girl” look that she came with has gone!
I may add a few piercings later on – in her ears for sure (she’s already got the holes), and perhaps one in her eye brow as well.
I will have to take a few comparison pictures next to Nomado Lisa later on. I really, really, love how her face turned out with the matting and the fuller eyelashes, but I still believe I’ll keep Lisa stock. Lisa’s soft type 2 body has suffered a bad staining on the hips from a pair of tights that she wore only a couple of days (from Chill’s stock), so there’s a slight possibility that I will obitsu her, but not anytime soon. She’s never showing off her tummy anyway, my girls are always properly dressed. ;)
Coming back from a tour of the misc. forums and flickr, looking at Kaela pictures, I wonder what made me go all “Oohh” and “Ahh” about her when her promo pictures were released. Same thing with Neo Noir, actually. Weird, because usually the “Oohh” dolls stay “Oohh” even after the owners’ pictures start flooding the boards. Which doll(s), if any, have done this to _you_?
Sigh from the bottom of my heart: some people really need to stop abusing their poor girls in means of customizing them. Honestly. A few of the custom Pullips I’ve seen lately have literally made me cringe. I mean, I can understand the fun in having a OOAK doll, but what’s the fun in creating something “only a mother would love”..? Disclaimer: this doesn’t go for anyone on my friends list. Yet. ;)
Other than that, they finally brought back salt&vinegar crisps (chips) here! *munches happily*
