Two cuties for September, and a completion of the police set with hunk Wayne and his awesome goggles – and _leather_ face mask (Dr. Lecter, is that you..?). Am I the only one finding the police trio a bit.. kinky? Hm. Anyway, besides the goggles and what seems to actually be a decent Tae stock wig for once, he doesn’t do much for me. Too much alike the recent Hellcatpunk boy, isn’t he? And the girls? The Pullip is too plain (like her eyechips, though!), and the Dal has the wrong colours for my liking. A mix of Rovam and Melize, isn’t she?

But that’s ok, there are several other releases I am still pondering about getting; Dals mostly: Kanta, Satti, Sakura, Maretti, Lizbel – and of course, Angry. Soon!

The Pullip is a police officer called Melissa. I am probably not the only one thinking Beressa redesigned (Beressa prototype vs original WWII SS uniform, images credit goes to tikistitch). Melissa’s uniform is definitely a lot more acceptable, but I personally find promo pics like this one a little.. hilarious, and slightly tacky. At least Lucia, the police Dal, appeared to be doing some real police work in hers. ;)

The Tae is the second doll from the steampunk series to be released. I am unimpressed. I don’t like his faceup nor his mismatching eyes nor the hair. The outfit seems to be highly detailed, but not my cup of tea. Money saved, right here! :) The Dal is joining the Asian couple (May release), and looks really cute! Nice, subtle and warm, BJD like, faceup – I may look for her nude/bald.

The July Groove dolls release is yet an other fashion collab, this time with classical lolita brand Innocent World. Even though I’m not a fan of costume fashion, I have to say I quite like these! Check the Byul’s dress..!

The minis (Little Pullip, Little Dal) are inspired by eastern European folklore costumes, while the BJD Ai is a superhero in a somewhat cheap looking outfit Mexican wrestler – Lucha libre! – in all her glory, lol…

Thoughts? I love the Dal, personally – she wouldn’t need any modifications at all. Love the hair colour, the hair style, the eyes and the faceup!

On a more personal level, I am currently waiting for Dal Phoebe, and today I paid off the last installment of my Unola Fluorite layaway. Can’t wait to give my Azurite “Naoya” a girlfriend, these dolls are just perfect..!

While I kind of like her outfit, I’ve found out why I can’t seem to warm up to the Byuls; it’s their stare. I’ve yet to see a Byul where you can actually get some kind of eye contact..!

Speaking of eyes, the Dutch Pullip dealer “Shimmering Magic” has posted several closeups of the February/March dolls (browse to the left in their photostream for more), which may be of interest to those of you who still haven’t made up your minds about them. The faceup of the Hellcatpunks dolls actually aren’t all that bland when you get a close look at them, at least not the Dal (soooo getting her!) and the Tae.

The April Pullip is called Shanria, and is supposed to be dressed for a celebrity show or like a celebrity (I can’t quite get a grasp of the text). I see nothing I want in her – although, if I get her for a reasonable price nude/bald from the second hand market, there is a chance she could fill the void that Isolde is leaving (because there’s no way I am paying $800 for a Pullip..!). She does resemble Isolde faceup wise, doesn’t she? (and Naomi too, I reckon..). The price of the April releases seem to be in the $116+ area.

My last piece of news for today is about the energetic new doll company/collective dollb. In a short time, they’ve managed to mark their position when it comes to making stuff for tiny BJDs – cute shoes and accessories (panties, stockings, socks) – for a reasonable price, and recently even more elaborate clothing, like pants, dresses and fullsets. In addition to their main website, they have a really clever “extra” website where you can browse their creations with just a few clicks. Yesterday, they posted pics of their own tiny BJD in the making! S/he is the same size as Lati Yellow/PukiFee, and looks really promising. When the face is this cute even without faceup, I am quite anxious to see the final result!

I am also curious to learn whether they will release the doll as a fullset with accessories, like Ixtee’s “Mui-chan”, and if so – will s/he compete with Mui-chan in regards of quirkiness? Or will s/he become more of a cutesy Lati/Volks copy? I really hope they release the doll as a basic body/head combo, and not just fullsets. I also hope s/he will be as affordable as the other products they are offering. Mui-chan sadly looks like she’ll be outside my comfort zone, price wise. Ixtee seem to be targeting the Blythe crowd, and they’re used to shelling out, I guess.

I love her hair and hair colour, and the dress is fab too. Her faceup is amazing, just my cup of tea!

I absolutely love their stock outfits, amazing detail and several items to choose from with each doll.

I am, however, not thrilled about their somewhat bland faceup.

There’s no sign of them at the Groove blog nor frickart yet, so I have no idea about their pricing. Frickart says 10900 yen, which translates to rougly US$120 (Groove says $151 (!), but I believe there’s a national tax on toys/goods in Japan – their mentioned price was quite higher the last time as well). The Hellcatpunks name is a fashion brand, though, so I am guessing at least $118 as with the other recent collabs.
