The BJD is a Cherishdoll Faith Chubby without horns, he’s got a lovely faceup by a Norwegian artist and will come nude in his original box, with a Cherishdoll wig and a pair of acrylic eyes (choose between dark blue, brown or magenta). The dove grey glass eyes are _not_ part of the deal unless you want to cover their cost ($40). I want US$180 for him (he’s $205 at the Cherishdoll website with wig and faceup). • Em (Haute NY) now sports a 27cm soft bust M obitsu, plus she was half way re-dressed since her stock stockings and boots doesn’t fit anymore
• Maaya (Latte) was re-chipped with a pair of sky blue chips from Pupa Paradise, re-wigged with a long blond Monique Faith – so pretty! - and re-dressed for spring
• Maaya’s boyfriend Theo (Butler) was re-wigged with a short, brown, fur wig
• Jenny (Zuora) was re-chipped with a pair of brown Pupa Paradise eye chips, and re-wigged with Maaya’s wine red fur – snazzy!
• My custom, Celia, was re-wigged with the Josephina wig Drta came with, plus I tried fixing her eyemech to avoid the pound of blue-tack otherwise holding her acrylic eyes (it’s a disaster in terms of obitsu floppiness..!)
• Finally, Y?hi (Vispo) was re-wigged, since Theo stole his fur wig. I gave him a looooooong blond wig and put it in a ponytail, but it’s got bangs and really is too feminine to look good. He could pass as a viking metal rocker I guess, but on the other hand: not really. ;) Besides, he really looked good in that brown fur wig - I will try to find a new one for him (my SD BJD needs one as well).

Pictures must follow – it’s 1am and I’m not in the mood to process pictures right now. Not that I took any, lamplight isn’t really inviting now that spring is here with gorgeous light during daytime!

What did you do for your dolls today? ;)

The Licca head is put on a 23cm male obitsu, and is sporting the Sleeping Elf wig I’ve shown off before, the one that resembles the Sweeney Todd ‘do a little and which has been worn by Class Mate Takeru as well as Cherishdoll bjd Pi before her. I don’t feel too bad about giving her a male body – it’s not like it’s anatomically correct, it’s just flat chested and a bit more athletic over the shoulders than the female versions. Dressed up she looks as feminine as any other girlie doll!

She will be getting a BFF in a couple of weeks, I’ve just arranged to get another Licca head (this time with the rooted hair still intact, although with a short cut). Their names will be Pepper (my current girl) and Crystal (the one who’s joining later, she’s got blond hair)!

The J-Doll will be my Class Mates’ older sister or something, will decide when I get to see her next to them “in person” (Marippe is supposedly made using the same face mold). She’s not here yet, I am purchasing her from lorentine and will pick her up at a mini doll convention next weekend. It will be fun to finally get to meet other Norwegian Pullip nerds!

At that doll convention there will be mostly bjd people, though. We’re meeting at skumringslandet‘s place, and there will be workshops for everything from restringing to faceups, and of course general admiring of each others’ “babies”. I will need assistance in sueding all of my dolls – they were hot glue sueded by silence_bliss this Christmas, but I am guessing that the cold temperatures has made the glue come off or at least lose its rubbery character, and it’s time to redo the procedure. Poor Shin has never been sueded at all, I am really looking forward to enabling the poseability his double joints offer! And speaking of Shin, he could need a touch up face wise as well.. Yes, already. See, I thought he was a bit dirty on his forehead and cheeks today, and decided to wipe him a littlewith magical sponge.. Big mistake. Shin is now without eye brows! >__<

Another big mistake has been done as well, as I was one of the people trusting the latest Pullip scammer(s). (Putting an -s there, because I don’t feel too convinced about the post from the girl whose account(s) were abused in the scam – I mean, she got her bank account, her Paypal account _and_ her eBay account hacked, and didn’t notice in three weeks?) Anyway, I knew that there was a risk of being tricked, but from my conversations with the seller I decided to let her (?) get the benefit of doubt, and “bought” two of the Dals that were offered up for adoption. I am not sure if I will get my money back, since my credit card isn’t really a CC, it’s a bank/debit card – it’s just Paypal which insists on treating it as a CC when it comes to fees. This was a calculated risk, and I can take the loss, but I do feel a bit sad about the two cuties (Cinnamoroll, Melize) who aren’t coming my way after all. Oh well – in April, perhaps?

To round it off in a positive vibe, here’s the Norwegian entry in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, enjoy this firework of a performance!

There will hopefully be another chance, though – and I shouldn’t be too sad, being that I have arranged to bring home Oren, Craziia and a custom Trunk in October (payday Wednesday, woot!). There may even be another girl headed my direction, in desperate need of some TLC. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Today I’ve sorted my stuff so far into boxes, click the picture to get to Flickr where I’ve left notes to explain what you see:

My significant other has wholeheartedly agreed on redecorating one of our rooms to put all things hobby and creativity related away from the living room area and into a more thought-through system. We will make a wall-to-wall desk – most probably even make it a corner desk (L-shaped) – the legs will be drawer sections, where the kids can keep their gazillion LEGO bricks, drawing paper and other stationery, I can keep my dolls’ accessories and fabrics for sewing, and my partner can keep his model sets and such. I will finally be able to have my sewing machine available and not hidden away at the bottom of some closet (out of sight, out of mind). That, and how the LEGO will no longer cover most of our living room floor, is my main motivation to get this done..! These are also good parts: we will have decent working light, with lamps hanging from the ceiling along the full length of the desk(s), we’ll have adjustable chairs (especially important for the kids – right now they are doing their homework at the living room table, and the height between the chair and the table just isn’t right for them), and we’ll be able to leave what we’re working on, without worrying about needing to put it away because of unexpected guests.

There’s only one problem, and that is what we’re going to do with the 10-12 boxes of toys that are currently filling up most of the room… Somehow, I don’t think the kids are motivated for yet another clean-out (we just had one last week, I managed to make them let go of 3 boxes). A shelving system will solve most of the problem, but there will still be at least 4 large boxes which need a place to be. Our two sons have definitely inherited their parents’ collector genes, it’s hard to let go of cherished items..!

Speaking of, I’ve actually been very good myself lately in letting go. It’s as if this new doll hobby has sparked a motivation to finally let go of stuff that I’ve kept “just because”. Like the nearly 100 CDs I just removed from my music collection! Next will be my computer books, they are headed for the shelves at work first thing Monday morning. Physical therapy text books will have to go (I am not returning to that choice of career), as will y/a books with girly themes. My comics are not going anywhere, though! 16 years of Donald Duck & Co, 5 years/complete series of Calvin and Hobbes, MAD, The Far Side – loads more, all in holders or binders..! Board games and hobby books are also staying. Heck, we’ll have a hobby room before long, the books can go onto shelves there, right? I have a box of English crime and suspense pocket books too, from my last round of cleaning out. I’ve never gotten around to hand those to the used books store; their opening hours are not what you’d call regular, and you’re lucky to find someone there.

If only shipping from Norway wasn’t as expensive – I could’ve made a fortune on eBay.. at least made up for a few of my own purchases..! *whistle*
