September 2010 – acorn, strawberry, and… police?

Two cuties for September, and a completion of the police set with hunk Wayne and his awesome goggles – and _leather_ face mask (Dr. Lecter, is that you..?). Am I the only one finding the police trio a bit.. kinky? Hm. Anyway, besides the goggles and what seems to actually be a decent Tae stock wig for once, he doesn’t do much for me. Too much alike the recent Hellcatpunk boy, isn’t he? And the girls? The Pullip is too plain (like her eyechips, though!), and the Dal has the wrong colours for my liking. A mix of Rovam and Melize, isn’t she?

But that’s ok, there are several other releases I am still pondering about getting; Dals mostly: Kanta, Satti, Sakura, Maretti, Lizbel – and of course, Angry. Soon!

Birthday money, be gone..! (Feb 2010 release)

For someone who find the h.Naoto collabs among the best releases, the February 2010 trio seems really REALLY promising..!

I absolutely love their stock outfits, amazing detail and several items to choose from with each doll.

Happihoridi’s campaign – vampires semi-officially announced

Groove and frickart posts today about the Happihoridi’s campaign (Happy Holidays, gotta love gTranslate..). It’s the previously mentioned “buy one large doll, get one Little Pullip or Dal for free” campaign, and the targeted dolls are all three Hime Gyaru dolls (Dec) and the Vampire trio (Jan – or, as it says: to be announced for January):

The minis will be randomly picked, of both generations, and may be display dolls (we are warned against minor flaws and production errors). The vampire Dal looks neat!!

November release: Visual kei

Frickart has published promo pics of the November dolls; they’re the Visual Kei set seen on several doll shows this year. Links 1, 2, 3 (you may have to right click and copy the URLs, frickart is known to – for some reason – be protective about others linking to them..).

What’s mostly interesting with this release, I reckon, is how it follows nicely along the path seen this year – with most of the prototypes displayed on shows becoming actual releases. More the reason to keep an eye on those shows! Also: their price is quite nice; 8,400 yen which equals $88 as this is written (edit: at the Groove blog, the price is set to 10,500 yen incl taxes). The Pullip comes with a microphone, the Dal with a spiffy el-guitar – and the poor Tae doesn’t have any accessories but his doll stand..

My feeling about the dolls: I quite like them, but if I get around to getting any of them it would be without their stock outfit – I am not a big VK fan, and wouldn’t have any use for it. I love how their faceups are looking even more like BJD faceups (as previously seen with Mir and Puki) – I hope that is a trend which will continue! I am most definitely going to take a close look at how the Tae (“Richt”) is painted, I have two Butlers and plan on customizing one of them. Check out the eyes especially (not too thrilled about his lip colour). I also quite like the whole faceup of the Dal (brilliant eye colour!) – she would have to be re-wigged, though.
