The first boy arrived today

First boy arrived today

.. and I was totally unprepared for how gorgeous he is! His glittery eye chips makes it difficult to take pictures where his eyes doesn’t sparkle (they don’t really do that “in person”), but I will try my best. My kids and I decided Annisette would be the best choice as his partner – “because she’s so cute,” according to my 6 y/o. ;) In two weeks another boy will come along, this time a Namu – the first boyfriends of Pullips – type Trunk, although customized. I was thinking that he should portray T?ya of Ayashi no Ceres, and become the partner of Aya, my Aquel. I am also currently the leading bidder on a NRFB Sage on eBay, but I can hardly think that the current price will stand ($55?? he’s sold out from both Pullip Style and The Valley – and he was $98 there..!). Only one hour left, though – we’ll see. I won’t raise my offer, I actually haven’t really got the money at all for him right now – I only got carried away a bit (I wouldn’t mind getting him, though – he’s really handsome and fits well with my group!). There’s a nude Lead up at Dolly market too, he would be awesome for Maaya, my custom Latte…

But really, the doll purchases are not my focus anymore; my group feels complete, more or less. Over the last week, I’ve been looking at different dollhouse projects and sewing patterns. I will spend this weekend cleaning out my house (textbooks, magazines, unwanted furniture, some of my kids’ toys etc.) in order to make room for a proper hobby room. Right now, the dolls, wigs and re-ment are on one of the guestroom beds, the clothes are scattered all over the floor, while my photo equipment, doll stands, rug samples and scrapbook paper (wallpaper) has occupied the other bed. I want a cubic bookshelf (Expedit from Ikea) and a proper desk which can hold my sewing machine and still have room for a photo light tent of sorts. I also need better light, I want a couple of natural light lamps but they seem to be pretty expensive. Will have to check with Ikea for that as well.

My parents will be visiting in a few weeks from now, and I was hoping to have the doll collection properly displayed by then. I want to persuade my dad into making me some furniture, and my mom to knit a few cardigans and sweaters, but they were both fairly negative when I first mentioned my new hobby. I reminded my dad about his own mother’s doll collection, and he immediately became more positive – but I don’t know if that was enough to make him help me with the furniture. My mom is an avid knitter and spends _a lot_ of money on yarn and patterns, and I am trying to tell her that we all have our interests and hobbies, it shouldn’t be necessary to have to defend that towards others. ;) I think she – they both, actually – finds it childish to collect dolls, and not very productive (like knitting…) – however, I believe the most important thing about a hobby should be that it offers some kind of escape and relaxation from the daily stress and routine. Being that I combine the collecting with photography, my creativity is challenged – which is also the case when it comes to the making of outfits.

Phew – 30 minutes left of the Sage auction and I was finally outbid! Now, better resist trying to raise the bid only a _tiny_ bit..! *closes eBay tab*

  1. Ahhhh I’m glad he made it safely to you, and is romancing the ladies already! (he tried to have his pick here, but only Holly was interested LOL)

The sparkle in his eyechips is awesome, isn’t it? It is glittery paper, if you wanted to remove it sometime.

    • The way you’d so carefully wrapped him up, no wonder he made it here all safe and sound! ;) Thanks so much – for the clothes as well!

Yeah, the eyes are amazing, but they are tricky when taking pictures because they tend to light up like reflective tags would (especially when using a flash, of course). I may have to look into taking out that paper – what will the eyes look like then, acrylic eyes?

  2. ;D Isn’t he LOVELY?! Congrats on your first <3

I have two Trunks ;-; And I want to adopt out my old customized one ~ He just hasn’t been receiving the love he should be getting /:

    • Thanks! Yeah, he’s amazing. As I told angelberries in a message, right after I had unwrapped him I was all “Ok, I am quitting Pullips and only collecting Taeyangs from now on!” :D

I’ve been considering your Trunk – a lot – but I don’t know if I have the courage to clean him up. He’d need new eyemech, wouldn’t he? Or can you get eyeballs separately?

      • :D YAY! Taeyang love! <3 xD

Actually, I’ve cleaned him up already 0: To the best of my ability with only magic eraser T__T No more sandpaper in this house .. And I’m always to lazy to go gtet some, LOL.

His eyemech is still intact 0: The white plastic part iwas just painted black :3 I was experimenting because I wanted to make a Hollow Ichigo ( and his eyes turn black 0: ), hehehe ~

I need to get sandpaper now. *adds to list* So I can clean him up well enough to sell again xD <3

        • Hehe, I am only halfway through Bleach..! ;) Looking forward to seeing pics of the “new” Trunk, then!

  3. Ah, he is gorgeous, I love his eyes! Cavalie is one of my favorite Taeyangs and he looks great with Squall. :D

    • Thanks! He really is amazing. :D
